Skype for Business Online vs Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams is for everyone

Whether it’s chat, calls, or video, anyone can engage at any time, bringing everyone closer.

Your docs, photos, videos, chat history, and meeting notes are always there, so it’s easier to work together.

Set up your team’s space with all the apps you need so you can stay in just one place instead of jumping around.

Microsoft Teams | Group Chat, Team Chat & Collaboration

Chat

Microsoft Teams offers the same chat functionality as Skype for Business Online, with a whole host of additional content designed to improve team collaboration.

File Management

As well as offering improved chat capabilities Microsoft Teams makes it easy to share files and work on them together. If your documents are Word, Excel or PowerPoint files your colleagues and customers can even view, edit, and collaborate on them, right within Microsoft Teams.

Meetings

Meetings in Teams include audio, video, and screen sharing. They’re one of the key ways to collaborate in Teams. And you don’t need to be a member of an organization (or even have a Teams account!) to join a Teams meeting.

Calls

Turn any PC, Mac, or mobile device into a working business phone by adding Microsoft 365 Business Voice to your subscription. Give employees their own work phone number to make and receive calls, set up a call menu system to route calls, add audio conferencing, and set up both toll and toll-free numbers for your business.
