In 2019 Sophos, a supplier of antivirus and encryption products, surveyed 3,100 IT managers across 12 countries. The independent study, carried out by UK based research house Vanson Bourne, revealed a number of insights into the types of cyber attacks and the problems they cause businesses.
Key Points of the Sophos Study
- In 2018 two out of three business fell victim to a cyber attack
- Main concerns for IT managers are: data loss, cost and damage to the business
- Email is the most common form of attack, followed closely by web and vulnerabilities
- IT managers consider the top security risks to be: phishing emails, software exploits and people (staff, contractors, visitors)
